OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G Unboxing

OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G Unboxing

This is the brand new OPPO Reno7 Pro. A big thanks to OPPO for getting these to me early.

Let's go ahead get this unboxed and see what it has to offer. So, as well as the device inside the box you do get a SIM card tool, some paperwork, a clear case so you can start using your device right away and have it protected. A USB Type-A to USB Type-C cable and a 65 watt SuperVOOC charger.

This is included out of the box, and this isn't any ordinary charger.

This can charge the Reno7 Pro all the way to 100% in just 31 minutes.

Now let's get to the device. And here it is, the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G.

This is the Startrails Blue color but it's also available in a Starlight Black.

Now, what I noticed right away is how thin and light this is.

It's just around 7.45 millimeters thin and it weighs only 180 grams.

That along with its flat edges and its very unique back also make it quite grippy. Now let's talk about this back.

So we have an exclusive OPPO Glow and the industry first application

of LDI technology on the back cover of the phone. Now this is a multistage process which involves a UV protective layer to protect the glass back from the etching process.

A photo resist layer is then applied along with the OPPO Glow etching effect. And with the help of the LDI technique the OPPO designed Startrails pattern is achieved. The glass is then soaked and sprayed

with a special etching solution that reveals the Startrails pattern.

And finally the ever-changing color and multi-dimensional textures are achieved by overlaying many different layers. And the result is this really unique looking back, which pretty much changes color

depending on the way the light hits it. I really, really do like this.

And then we've got a really interesting looking camera module.

My favorite thing about this is that we've actually got a breathing light

that surrounds the camera module and this will glow

when you have incoming calls or notifications. It really takes an LED notification to the next level.

This is also the first time that OPPO is using coated ceramics to decorate the camera array on the back of the phone, which means it can bear daily wear due to its hardness.

Now let's turn this around and take a look at the display. So we have a 6.5 inch AMOLED display, which means colors are really vibrant. And this also supports a 90 Hertz refresh rate, which means things are really, really smooth.

We've got a very high screen to body ratio with really small bezels and a punch out. Let's talk about this punch out because this has a 32 megapixel selfie camera with the IMX 709 sensor.

And this is a very unique sensor because this is an RGBW sensor.

What does that mean? Well, traditional sensors have red, green and blue.

The IMX 709 has red, green, blue as well as white.

Now these new white pixels

can capture the full spectrum of visible light

and are more sensitive to light intensity

compared to other pixels,

allowing the sensor to take in more light as a whole.

So big emphasis has been put here

on the front facing camera

to get really good low light selfies.

Now let's take a look at the rear facing cameras.

So we do have a multiple camera set up.

There is a 50 megapixel primary camera,

an eight megapixel ultra wide camera.

We also have a macro camera and a color temperature sensor.

Now the primary camera is using the IMX 766 sensor.

This is a large size sensor

with around a 1/1.56-inch sensor size,

and it includes all pixel omnidirectional PDAF

and dull HDR to help improve shooting

in backlight situations.

And we have an all new portrait mode

to replicate a DSLR style look.

And this has over 25 levels of adjustments

so you can change the aperture all the way down to 0.95

So you have more of a blurry background

and all the way up to f16

if you want more of a solid background.

You can also adjust the size of the bokeh light spots

in the background and you have bokeh flare portrait video

so you can get the effect in video as well as in images.

The OPPO Reno7 Pro also has improved AI Highlight Video.

We've covered AI Highlight Video in the past

and this is now enabled by default

to help you capture clearer brighter

and more vivid portrait videos,

on both the front and refacing cameras, at night

as well as with bright back lights.

So as you can see

OPPO has gone all out on the Reno7 Pro

when it comes to the cameras.

And these are some of the main features

that we have on here.

Now take a look at what's powering the Reno7 Pro.

It is the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 max 5G chip set.

Now this is a very capable chip set

and the Reno7 Pro also comes with

up to 256 gigabytes of storage with 12 gigabytes of RAM.

Now it doesn't stop there

because you also have a feature called RAM expansion.

This will allow you to use

some of your ROM as RAM for those more intensive tasks.

Now for software, this does come with ColorOS 12 out the box

and ColorOS 12 has been revamped to include more space

resulting in a clean and uncluttered UI.

Adapting ColorOS 12

for 67 languages used in over 140 countries

and regions worldwide.

There's also an emphasis on privacy

with features such as Anti-peeing notifications

which will keep detailed notifications hidden

when activated in public areas.

And for the battery

we do have a large 4500 milliampere power battery

which will keep you going all day long.

And remember we do get the 65 watt Super VOOC charger

included out of the box.

This will get you a 100% charge

on the Reno7 Pro in just around 31 minutes.

And that is the OPPO Reno7 Pro.

It is absolutely packed with a bunch of features,

some of which we've covered in this video so far.

And of course you guys want to know

how you can win one of these.

So OPPO have been kind enough

to send me three extra Reno7 Pros

in the Startrails Blue color to share with you guys.
